A bride and groom both want a lavish and
wonderfully decorated church and reception site for their
wedding. The trouble is, flowers, table linens, candles, and
renting fancy place settings can be very expensive. Your caterer
should be able to help you with some of the decorating for the
reception area but the church is likely to be completely
decorated by you. Make sure to ask what kind of restrictions
they have. Most places do not allow confetti, certain types of
candles, tape or anything on the walls, or rose petals on the
ground. It is important to find this information out early so
you know what you can and cannot do.
Tips to Save Money:
-
Buy flowers from a grocery store and
wrap them with lace yourself for table placements. (12 roses
from a super market can be around $15 vs. $50-$60 from a
flower shop.)
-
Make your own center pieces
-
Wrap candles in glass with your own
ribbon
-
Make your own bouquets for centerpieces
out of fake flowers.
-
Do the decorating of the facilities yourself. Ask people in
the wedding party for help.
