Music in weddings come into play at the
ceremony and reception. Music can make or break the event. Hiring musicians
for the wedding ceremony can create an unforgettable ambiance.
How do you even start to find a musician? One recommendation is
to look at a local college and see if they have music classes.
You can try to get professors or students to play at your
ceremony. Noteworthy the
University of Northern Colorado is
known for its music school. There are incredible professors and
musicians that would be willing to play (though the students are
likely to be more inexpensive).
The time to
unwind is at the reception! Eat, drink, and dance the night
away. Picking the right DJ is a very important decision. Messing
up in the area could mean the chicken dance and disco play all
night when you wanted country music. Communication with your DJ
is key and I strongly recommend getting a list of the songs you
want played at your big event to your DJ well ahead of time. You
may even submit CD’s with the songs you like to make sure your
DJ has them.
Tips to Save Money:
-
Find a DJ nearby so you do not have to
pay traveling expenses.
-
Hire
college student musicians to play at your event.
-
Shop around! Rates from DJ to DJ differ
widely.
